Site updates, Google Friend Connect integration
So I was working on the site the other day, and I got to thinking… Basically I want users to be able to use a single login to do everything regarding Evolution RTS. That is, at least on the website front. That means one login for the forums, for the site, making comments, reporting bugs, etc etc. (more…)
Evolution RTS Gameplay Video (Survival Mode)
After the last video, it was requested that I show more of the gameplay instead of “theatrical” type stuff. Here it is! A vid of me playing in survival mode (normal difficulty) showing off the gameplay a bit. Survival mode can be played either by yourself or with friends online in co-op, teams or even free for all. Unfortunately the end of the battle is not here. Blame youtube and their silly 15 minute limit.
We’ve moved to Google Code!
Ok, I know what you non-developers are thinking… Big Whoopty Do, amirite? Well, suffice it to say that google code project hosting is exactly what we have needed for a long time. Google used to restrict the license types that you could use on google code. The Evolution RTS license fulfilled most of the obligations but there was the small fact that derivatives are not allowed. In particular, Evolution RTS is Free, Open Source, but does not allow others to take our content and do whatever they like with it.
New Evolution RTS trailer video!
Ok, first off, lets get something straight… I am not good at video editing. In fact, I am a total newb, however, this one managed (despite my best efforts) to come out very nicely. Yes it has a lot of the typical crap that you see in most rts trailers, but I tried to keep it fairly interesting. You can view the trailer below, or just head over to the Evolution RTS youtube channel ( http://www.youtube.com/forbodingangel ) and check it out! Be sure to comment and tell me what you would have liked to see or why you liked it / disliked it.

Upcoming Desura Release
First of all, no promises, but we are really close to a release on Desura!
There are a few roadblocks in the way though. One is the settings application. I want to get some good default graphics settings for the game in place (for noobies who don’t really want to be bothered with every other little graphics option). The current settings profiles are awful. Thankfully, Koshi (SpringLobby Developer) has been working pretty closely with me to make all of this possible. (Update: This has been accomplished, THANKS KOSHI!) (more…)
